Succumbing to 2 hurricanes, the "Nuestra Señora de Atocha" was a Spanish treasure galleon whose riches were strewn over many miles in 1622.

Featuring old-world colors, Atocha Gumbo captures the plight of the Atocha. Hurricane clouds, her sails, and actual imagery of 22-carat gold, silver, and a stunning emerald cross from the 1982-1985 shipwreck recovery are featured.  Recovery vessels Dare and JB Magruder, including their newly updated and innovative discovery apparatus called  "Mailboxes" faintly peek in from the background.

The imagery consists of over a dozen photographs, plus two digital paintings all obtained from Dan's collection. The images were then digitally remastered and blended into one piece of art.
